97 geo 1.6 wheel bearings

I have similar problem on my 95 corolla and my friend look up the flat rate book and said $500 labor only for both side, so $250 for only one side?

Why blame the wheel bearing[s]? They don't grind until they are horrible gone.

Not quite. I've seen a bad wheel bearing make noise that would give you a migraine, and the raceway spall was only 2mm wide.

I have a 97 geo prizm and haven't had this issue happen but wheel bearings aren't too expensive. Rockauto has.a.good deal on them.
