I decided to keep this car for the long haul....so I just spent quite a bit on the car for needed repairs (new radiator, hoses, strut work, etc.).
The car has 110,000 miles. If it remains parked for three days or so, then starting it results in a poof of that white (maybe blueish) smoke. What causes that?
I started using Pennzoil High Mileage 10-30, and I don't think that the smoke thing is happening any more...at least, not that I have noticed.

Does anyone have oil/filter suggestions for this car? Is the High Mileage oil appropriate? Toyota Camry '97

my 97 camry (v6) is up to 178k, and so far so good with normal maintenance.

I moved to 10w40 conventional at about 125k to slow down the "puff of smoke". This is common and is caused by valve stem seal oil leakage. It isn't really that bad until it starts fouling plugs. Anyway, 10w40 slowed it for me (it was slight), others have reported good results with "high mileage" oils with seal conditioners like you are using.

I think the Pennzoil High Mileage 10w30 may be the ideal solution. It seems to be very popular with Toyota owners around here for some reason. If I remember correctly, Jelly had some sucess with it on a GM truck for the same reason.
