93 Octane for Turbo’s

Don't make this political. Not everyone knows the info below so I'm giving the opportunity to educate those who want to learn.

Because of Americas addiction to 87 octane, the automakers want to do away with it.
The auto makers have engine designs that simply wont live on 87 octane and they want a new higher octane standard.

The manual for the Cobalt "recommends" 93 octane and that's all the car has gotten since I bought it. Even at close to $5/gallon I looked at it as the price of admission for joyriding in a turbo vehicle.
