Well BITOG it's been a while. Hello again!
So last summer I sold my 88 Mazda 323 and bought a 2006 Mazda 6 (47k miles). Looking in the oil fill hole it looked like a mirror finish. Supposedly 3k chges on YB.
I dropped in M1 0w20. (Planning 10k mile OCI - presently at 9.2k) This last wkend I did a 400 mile round trip (went to Fayetteville AR from Little Rock for the Red/White game). Trip included about 20 minutes of near redline driving the "Pig Trail" (highway 23 - plenty of 10 mph curve warning signs). I take the curves at a reasonable speed, but coming out of them I goose it - to make it memorable for my two sons (wife and daughter stayed home, otherwise goosing it would not have been an option). So anyway, whatever non-oil fluids in the crankcase should now be burned out after 400 miles. Yet the oil line is at the full mark. I've put zero oil in since the OC. It's been at the full mark for the full 9.2k miles. Nice oil, nice engine.
(Car is otherwise driven gently by my wife - kids to school, some medium range trips & errands)
