The worst part is the holes for the port injectors are there in the intake, just blanked out.

Yep - my care about MPI isn't intake deposits, it's having MPI and a LPFP upgrade (with accompanying tune) to get another 50hp to put me around 400.

I would probably use these to drill a small hole for the valve cleaner straw to fit in and spray the valves directly every oil change with the engine running.
The biggest challenge would be finding a suitable plug I guess.

That is a good idea, probably could be very effective if done right.
