It's about the only ELP tune that isn't too far out there besides Lucky Man.

ELP would never make it now... nor would many other groups that couldn't compress their music into 3:05 for air play. It must screw up the average radio hour with varied length songs. I guess it took too much juggling to manage the news/commercials.

Many will note that "album rock" evaporated at a certain point.

I never did like the second album as much as the first, but different courses, you know.
Much like I think Little Feat dropped a peg in greatness after the death of Lowell George, still did some good stuff but not in the same league as the earlier work.

Thank You.
In some of those clips it shows some of the extreme talent represented in that list I think. The members of ELP, Mick Fleetwood (not on the list for no reason), most of the guitarists, all show extraordinary talent.

Bob Segar, Who was still working and the stones, HEAD EASt "never been any reason", REO for starters.

Then came this

Many 80's pop songs are some of my favorite though.

eek! This is more like it . RICK DERRINGER " Easy Action " from '78 release of " IF I WEREN'T SO ROMANTIC , I'D SHOOT YOU " . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2vveeUlGBM . Why MADONNA went into the R&R HALL OF FAME over DERRINGER is beyond me . What a joke ! Is she not pop ?

I think she had a lot of Pop, but she seems to have compiled a fair amount of crossover stuff as well, some I would say is quite good.
