Anything (everything) by Deep Purple, Allman Brothers, Janis Joplin, Grand Funk. That is my favorite era too. There were lots of very good one hit wonders, too - Blackfoot, Bloodrock, MC5 - more than I can remember. Like someone else said, the list is almost endless. It was a high energy time.

I agree. As much as people make fun of 70's rock, I think it has great range and some of the best rock EVER. Already look at this thread! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3blqV_zkFU&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xql99I1VSdI&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvPyT-YGUIg&feature=related IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3BFuxBayxg
No doubt. Prog rock was huge then. Yes is an all time favorite. Preferably the Yes with Bill Bruford. Close to the Edge and Fragile would be my two favorite from Yes. So many good bands....

SCORPIONS ! LOVEDRIVE , album cover got my attention . Great L.P. as well . Other album covers that swayed me to purchase as a teen were RUSH " 2112 " , THIN LIZZY " Jailbreak " , HEAD " Get Yourself Up " , DOOBIE BROTHERS " What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits " and many others .
