5w30 vs5w20

06 toyo sennia calls for 5w30 but wondering about all the info i been reading on 5w20. all oil heads chime in. also opinions about shaffer,s oil both 7000blend or 9ooosyn campared to amsoil, m1. pp others, what grp does it fall in. tks

Do you see your engine listed here? If it is, use a 5w-20 or 0w-20 if you feel like it. If you don't feel like it, don't.

Schaeffers has a solid reputation here. I've never used it ..so..

It really won't matter, especially in a minivan where you probably won't notice an engine revving more freely, or a difference in noise/vibration, or a difference in fuel economy.

So really either would be fine.

I don't see Schaeffers in the stores I go to, never heard anything bad about it.

The important thing would be sticking to 5000 mile OCI's until your drivetrain warranty is up at 60,000 miles.

I wouldn't do it. There is only negligible mpg gain. It gives an increase of I believae .8mmp in fleet service.

I've never heard anything negative about either Schaeffers product, except for the availability of it. The 7000 series gets talked about a lot, just google it. Use 5W-30 in your van, many 30 wt oils shear down a little anyway.

IIRC...

Schaeffers 7000 is a group II+ and group IV blend.
Amsoil full syn is group IV.
Amsoil XL series is group III.
PP is group III.
M1...it's complicated
