Just an update.
I had my son out looking at the oil situation and he said the oil smelled bad so I put it right to my nose and took a deep inhale, My nose is pretty burned but he was right.
So I went and changed the oil over to 10w30 Valvoline Synpower and a Fram Tough guard. I dont normally buy fram but anyway I tried it. after the oil change the loud tick is totally gone, I mean completely gone and feels like 600 pounds were off loaded of the van.
What I had in it before was PU 5w30 and a Mobil 1 filter. What is going on here was the oil and oil filter combo bad or was the oil bad?
I dont get it. But thats the reality of the situation. Sorry PU lovers.

syn power is a good oil. if you feel the PU was bad get in touch with pennzoil and see if they will make it right.

did you save any for a uoa?

Without pics the story sounds like the home needs to be more watchful when he takes his meds next time. After the smell thread we should be warned what we have on our hands..So anyway.....

So I phoned Shell and they started a claim for me.
The weird thing is the woman I was talking to said she just received an email from a customer in the same part of Ontario claiming the exact same thing I was saying.
Maybe there was a bad batch, anyway i saved the 1/2 liter I have left and will mail it to them if they need it.

I also purchased a Pennzoil product after the colossal support it receives here on a daily basis.

I too, have experiences *similar* symptoms as the OP, and my car is a brand new, 2011 Altima with the FF out at 1200 miles. The filter was a WIX 51356.

The details of my thread can be found and read here- https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/11-altima-pp-warm-idle-tick.149862/

Again, I may be overreacting as I mentioned in the thread but it was still something that caused my attention. All in all, despite the fact that everyone on this forums (almost everyone) believes in this oil, it's not the same for some of us.

I will be trying Synpower as recommended by another member that has the same car/motor as me.
