I have half jug left of conventional 5W30 after I sold my car. I have a 2015 Kia Forte that uses 5W20 and I've been using synthethic in it a few years after I bought it new. This car has 70km (~45kmiles).

Could I use a quarter from the 5W30 jug for the next 2 oil changes together with my 5W20 synthetic (same brand) or should I just throw out perfectly good oil, but wrong grade.

They are both authorized grades. Go ahead and use the 5W-30. Top up with 5W-20 if you need to.

Those Kia/Hyundai engines used to do fine on synthetic blends, so I would blend away, maybe a 50/50 mix.

Not a bad idea.

Must admit that I recently picked up NAPA syn-blend 5W-30 for $12.50 a jug. It's Valvoline in disguise. My older truck with love it.

I definitely vote for quantity over quality. My car prefers 5 qt of store brand over 1 qt of M1.

Now someone will post it's all in my head.

I have used 5w 20, 5w 30, and 10w 30 in a friend's 2016 Kia Soul 1.6 with no issues that I know of. My locale usually sees mild winters and hot summers.
