Does the Liqui Moly not meet the criteria you outline?Go this:
Castrol - 152B99-6PK 06244 Edge A3/B4 0W-30 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 1 Quart, 6 Pack https://a.co/d/ibqVfhy
Or this:
Pennzoil Platinum Euro Full Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil (1-Quart, Case of 6) https://a.co/d/469tBBZ
Forget Liqui Moly.
Also, grade is irrelevant. What matters is HTHS and approval for your engine requires minimum HTHS of 3.5. So you need right approval, which is LL01. That is in short bottom line. You have much more in Euro section.
It does. But it is average oil with hyped up marketing.Does the Liqui Moly not meet the criteria you outline?
I am not the original poster, but dealing with trying to locate LL-17 FE+ choices for my 330i. Slim pickings, but was going to go with the approved Liqui Moly. Valvoline is another possibility. It does. But it is average oil with hyped up marketing.
These are much better choices.
Appropriate Liqui Moly will have same approval. But approvals are minimum requirements (although we are talking very stringent approvals, much more than average API or ILSAC oil).
Those two I listed are top of tge “food chain” that have approvals. Add to that Mobil1 0W40, which doesn’t have approval (long story) but has MB229.5 approval which is generally more stringent than BMW LL01. In your engine (not sure do you have N54 or 55?) you can use oil with MB229.5 even if oil doesn’t have LL01.
Are you under warranty? If not, use oils I mentioned or LL04 approved oil like Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30.I am not the original poster, but dealing with trying to locate LL-17 FE+ choices for my 330i. I am under warranty. BMW allows LL04 in the car, but I plan on staying with the 0W20.Are you under warranty? If not, use oils I mentioned or LL04 approved oil like Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30.
Yes, that is what BMW is using on many markets in Europe.I am under warranty. BMW allows LL04 in the car, but I plan on staying with the 0W20.
Ravenol = BlaupartsI am not the original poster, but dealing with trying to locate LL-17 FE+ choices for my 330i. Slim pickings, but was going to go with the approved Liqui Moly. Valvoline is another possibility.
I may do that, but note that after delivery and high initial price, it's a pretty expensive proposition. This is not to say that other LL 17 FE+ oils are cheap, but would want to know that the additional price for Ravenol makes sense...Ravenol = Blauparts
