It seems that we Ontarians are limited in our choices for OTC 0/5W-40 oils. There is Delvac 1 which is excellent but quite expensive. Supposedly Petro Canada has a 5W-40, but I have yet to find it at any PC station (anyone know which station stocks this oil?).

What else is available in the 0/5W-40 OTC type? Any idea where I can get M1 SS 0W-40 other than a Benz dealership?

Welcome fellow Mississauga guy!

There is also Havoline 5w40 synthetic up here too. I've never seen 0w40 M1 up here, although supposedly Walmart had a few bottles for a short time.

Where in Mississauga are you and what do you drive? I'm near 401/Mississauga Rd and drive a burgundy 95 Firebird Formula.

Chevron has released their Supreme 5w40 synthetic, but don't know where it can be found. I'm still waiting on a price. As an interesting side note, I talked to a Wal-Mart auto section manager or whatever he was called and he said he orders the oils that are requested or sell. So until they sell it, they assume no one wants it. Might explain why they are often 1 season behind.

if you have shell oil up there there are a couple shell 5w40's(i use rotella). I hear Petro Canada has a 5w40 also.

Paul,

Look into local truck stops or truck supply shops for the 5W-40 oil. It's usually an API-CH-4 or CI-4 diesel lube oil that's dual rated API-SL or SJ for gasoline engines.

For Mobil 1 0W-40, check the local distributor to see who's retailing it. Is Imperial Oil the distributor of ExxonMobil products up your way?

Yep, up here in Canada our Mobil 1 products are distributed by Imperial Oil. I know someone who works for them actually, he's part of my f-body car club.

Hi Patman,

I live close to Square 1. Now I drive a '92 civic hatch. During the Summer I drove a '01 Type R.

BTW- where can one get the Havoline 5W-40 Synthetic? Can it hold it's own compared to the others?
