I own a 2001 F250 V10-
Manual calls for 5W-20.
Since I tow with it- I started putting Mobil 1 synthetic in- I checked around and all the auto parts places I went to said to go ahead and put the 5W/30 in since I could not find the 5W 20 in my area.
I'm up to my 6th oil change and I just found teh Mobil 1 0W-20 grade which says on the label that it is to be used to replace 5W-20.
Is it safe for me to go ahead an switch back over to 0W-20 now with cold weather approaching?

I'd say yes also. Since you are using Mobil One the VOA's are similar and bypasses the problem as to which 5w20 conventional oil are best for your application. (Motorcraft 5w20, for one)I would also think you can probably gain some increase in fuel mileage.

Using Mobil 1 0W-20 in the winter time will benefit you by getting a faster flow of oil to the engine. It's a high quality oil like the Mobil 1 5W-30. Just curious what are your oil change intervals with the Mobil 1?

You'd be good with either choice, but if it were ME....I'm with the thicker is better crowd and stick with M1 5W-30. Been running that in my 01 F150 5.4l.
