5W-30 or 10W-30 in GM 5.3

Which oil viscosity should I use in my '01 GMC Sierra 5.3L engine. I will be using Amsoil. The all climate recommendation in the manual is 5W-30 with 10W-30 being good for 0F and above. I live in Ohio. The truck will see temp variances from 0F to >90F.

5w30 sounds just about perfect for that temperature range.

Some people use the 10w/30 for summer driving and 0w/30 for winter driving.

You state you are going to be using Amsoil 5W30. That would be just fine to use all the time. I live in northern Minnesota and driving from here to D.C. in the summer 5W30 does fine all year round.
I am seeing no problems in using what the makers are specifying for each of their particular autos.
