Nope. The 3.5 24V SOHC (the 3.2 is no longer made) is spec'd as before: 10w30. The 2.7 24V DOHC used to be spec'd for 5w30 and it is now spec'd for 5w20.quote:

Well the article is a little incorrect on a few things. It says "Red line" vehicles use Honda V6's, this isn't really very accurate. The Vue uses a Honda V6 in Red line and none redline form, and the Ion Red line uses a GM engine. It's also missing alot of Chrysler engines, but I think we can assume the 3.5 and 3.2(if they still make it) will use the same oil as the 2.7 and the 3.8 will use the same oil as the 3.3.
I am too. The Viper has had 10w-30. Is the HP that much higher? I'm going to use a thick 30wt or 40wt in the Hemi.quote:
The Mobil 1 that came in the Viper V10 has always been 10w30, so I'm a bit surprised that this article is saying that 0w40 is what's being used now.
No changes that I know of. Just as there were no changes as far as clearance from when the new Hemi was introduced in the Dodge pickups and called for 10w30, but in the new 300C it too is spec'd for 5w20.quote:

G-Man do you know if the 2.7L has actually changed specs (bearing clearances, etc) in order to use 5W20 ...?
I don't think a Northstar would be a good candidate simply because those engines have a history of oil consumption issues even with the oil they are spec'd for.quote:

I've been keeping tabs on your use of the 5W-20 in that engine which calls for a 10W-30, and the results are fascinating. What is your opinion, and any others, of just trying a run of it on most any modern engine that calls for a 5W-30, let alone 10W-30? Also, what have been the pros and cons of your experience using the 5W-20? Possibly, I'd like to try it in the 97 Stratus 2.5L-V6. Or you think a Cadillac Northstar would take well to it?
The compression ratio on my 3.5 is 10:1. Is it higher than that on the 2.7?quote:

Interesting about the Chrysler V6s. I assumed they were the same, but since you pointed it out I noticed the 2.7 has a higher compression ratio and DOHCs.
