5/10w-30 with good additives

since wally world has ****** me off to no end by jacking the price of my mainstay castrol gtx..are these oils comparable in quality for a 3-5k oci...troparctic,havoline,chevron,pennzoil and motorcraft.these seem to be the most readily available and cheap [for now]...

I would throw Citgo into the mix also. And its relatively cheap in most places

Chevron/havoline have shown robust additive packages and generally run cheaper than pennzoil/motorcraft. I believe chevron has shown some good UOA's last I searched.

Motorcraft 5-30 is what I'm using now.
I just couldn't justify using M1 anymore.

Havoline is inexpensive and easy to find. It is as good as any of the other higher names such as Pennzoil, Gastrol etc IMHO

the havoline at wally world is cheap but is mixed up on the shelf ..gf-3 & gf-4..probably wont matter..drive, change, repeat.yeah, i come by a number of people who wont buy mobil 1 anymore..like i said..as long as you change it when needed....think i will try the 10w-40 havoline in me motorbike...
