$4500 Credit for trade-in

I'm amazed that my P.O.S. Buick doesn't qualify as a clunker. Maybe one of those congresspeople would like to take a ride in it? I bet they would change the definition after that...

In a year I ought to have enough income to consider a new car. If my rusty Buick manages to qualify, which I severely doubt since the EPA estimate is 21 combined, it'd get me nosing around dealerships for a hybrid, diesel, or another car that can get extremely high fuel efficiency. I'd be the perfect sheep for the program.

Until the definition gets changed, it's still cheaper to hypermile my paid-for Buick than to get a new car.

It should pass the Senate I would think and will be on the way to law.
