3 month old Duralast AGM is toast?

It's an H8 in the Mercedes S550 I bought. Charger kicks off after 15 minutes and the battery is at 5 volts. What are the chances AutoZone will comp me a new one without the receipt?

Even walmart hassled me with a receipt.

Only thing you can do is take it there and ask, tell then your story and have proof of the battery date code.

I once used a bank transaction to show i bought something at AutoZone. Maybe pull it. If you have a number registered with them it should be in their system for sure.

I was told by Autozone that it isn't a worry if I don't have the receipt. They register the battery to your account through the phone number.

Connect it in parallel with a standard lead acid battery using jumper cables and try charging it again.

Something about the internal resistance of AGM batteries being different that doesn't jive well with many battery chargers causing false 'fully charged' offs. Something like that.

Or a different smart charger with reconditioning option like CTEK or some of the NOCO.

I bought my CTEK 7002 because Optima was using it in videos to recover dead Optima Spiral cells

Clarios bought out Varta Automotive, I've noticed as of late most of the Clarios AGM batteries seem to be coming from Germany.

Curious why it was at 5v. That’s really dead, from a lot of parasitics…

A car that complex can feasibly pull down a battery hard and fast if one of its module relays or other things goes bad.

It has a secondary starting battery no might be hard to notice until it gets really low and causes problems.
