3.8 Windstar, What synth oil to use?

I am trying to find what type of synthetic would be best for the 3.8. I have tried mobil 1 10w-30 and I have had considerable oil consumption and noise from this oil. The motor has 102000kms on it and I have been using castrol gtx 5w-30 but I want to switch to synthetic. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There are some really good oils available in Ontario, like GC and Delvac 1--I'd try those.

I think the Delvac 1 is probably your best bet here if you want to try and reduce oil consumption, and you can find it at Walmarts up here for $35 for a 4L jug. Another alternative is the 0w40 Rotella synthetic, which is $30 for a 4L jug at Canadian Tire.
