3/8 female by 1/2 inch drive male crossover

Yes, it’s backwards. I have a Milwaukee 3/8 inch impact wrench that’s quite compact but wanted to use a 18 mm 1/2 inch drive socket on it. Now I can.

Do anything to achieve the necessary task, especially with sockets and access. Ive broken many chrome 1/4 and 3/8 adapters, but the impact ones have been solid.
 
I love impacts for removing lock rings on bicycle cassettes for similar reasons. No need for a chain whip. I do not reinstall with an impact, however.
 
Those adapters can be handy. Don’t need them often when working on cars but do use them sometimes. I usually have a couple ones of each size because generally I usually twist or break at least one because usually lots of torque goes behind them.
