I have seen a few post but I am looking for opinion on 3 different oils.
2014 3.0 TDI with 140k and a factory reseal.

I ran factory 5w-30 for a while, but was seeing high consumption.

I have been running SAE 5W-30 LS Synthetic European Motor Oil. with mild consumption I have had to add 1/2 to 3/4 a bottle in last 5k
I am seeing oil temps as high as 228F on the highway.

my next 2 options are
#1 Motul's 106377 8100 X-Clean + 5W30
#2 Scheffer's 8008 Advanced European Performance Mid SAPS 5W-30

Any thoughts on the 3 oils Amsoil , Motul and Scheffer

Thanks in advance I temp burn off Is what I worry about at most.

What's 'factory 5W-30`? You're certainly not talking about the factory fill.

What eaxactly is 'LS oil'?

Personally I think that's pretty normal for such an engine, specifically
for this engine at this elevated mileage. In my experience deviating from
the manufacturer approved oil (VW 507 00) has very little if any benefit in
reducing oil consumption.

That's pretty normal and where it should be on a modern car with
an electronically controlled thermostat. Helps with evaporating fuel
and water.

Which Amsoil? The 'LS' mentioned earlier? I'd just go with a VW 507 00
approved 5W-30 Mobil1, Castrol or Pennzoil which is perhaps what you
consider 'factory oil'. Plenty of choice btw.:

well it's in a Cayenne and Porsche calls for (C30) 5W-30 over what VW/AUDI calls for. there is nothing different with the motors besides the silly ECM, but same power and ratings.

LS = long service.

I tend to stick prue synthetic. I like synthetics bases oils I has had zero issues in other cars, but the diesel seem to be different beast.

True, I repeatedly said on this forum Mobil 1 ESP (5W-30) is excellent.
Porsche C30 should be pretty much the same as VW 507 00 if not the
exact same. Many oils use to come with both approvals simultaneously.
If true synthetic base oil is your concern and you're willing to pay the
premium Ravenol VMP 5W-30 is a PAO/ester/AN (group 4 & 5) blend
AND comes with the required Porsche C30 approval:

I use to run it on my GTI since 2018 - no issues, no perceiveable oil use.
