2KD-FTV Engine

as subject..

i am new using this kind of engine in my toyota..it is already 13000 kilometers in odometer since i bought it in may 2015 and i use Q8 T800 10w40 in my engine.

all i want to know exactly is the long performance from all of you that use 2KD-FTV engine in your car or truck. hopefully with high mileage so i can know that this engine is really have high durability..

Not sure what you are asking for but...

My dad has this engine in his 2006 Toyota Hilux
He changes oil every 6-7K miles or 10K kilometers.

He has a little over 100K kilometers now and all he has changed other than oil is the fuel filter, tires, brakes, common wear stuff.

For oil he uses a "cespa" brand synthetic. Not sure where it is made but it looks legit.
I told him to use wix filters

does ur dad use that with high duty?

i checked that 'cepsa' oil..and i found that is from spain, it is one of well known lubricant in Spain and found also the specs quitely good..one of the heavy duty oil

he uses it for carrying normal loads,

sometimes may be loaded with cement block,
loaded with lumber/construction supplies,
i dont think he tows many trailers,

now that im thinking about it, i know he had a small leak from the ac unit behind the glovebox a few years ago

he uses 10w40 in this tuck as well as in the 2001 toyota land cruiser

wow seems like quite lot of workload on ur dad's car..i think the engine can last longer like cummin or powerstroke maybe..i guess

I think it is durable and will last a long time but it has no where near the HP or torque of a cummins/Duramax/powerstroke

Maybe because those other engines are twice the size of the Toyota's?

Umm...wasn't trying to be a smart arse, perhaps I missed what you were getting at by saying it has nowhere near the HP of those bigger engines? THAT is indeed obvious!
