Original AGM was only 45 months old. Is this typical for new car batteries now? It's the shortest lifespan I've ever encountered since my VWs in the 90s and 2ks.

Bought an Everstart Platinum H7 from Walmart for $179 that comes with a 4-yr warranty.

Is there not a warranty left on your vehicle? Would the dealership not pro-rate the battery? Alot of new cars have tons of electronics that Constantine pull power. I think this is why certain German vehicles have two batteries in them.

That does seem very short for a new car battery. Wouldn't it be covered under warranty?

I have bought 2 of the Walmart AGMs like you show but group 65 for my pickup. They were East Penn. I wish WALMART would sell a better selection of AGM batteries including marine batteries.

Two year warranty for the battery.

Pretty much the same with my Jeep - in fact I bought the same replacement 😷

Remember the old 5-Year Sears Die-Hard? Those days are gone. As the poster above states, more electronics, and in some cases, cheaply made batteries, are used for cost. AGM's tend to either work or just die off with usually little to no warning.
Exactly the case here. No warning. Fine on Saturday, dead Sunday morning.

My OEM Toyota battery, that mostly sat in the garage and was put on a tender at least monthly, lasted 5 years. It would start the car but was at about 60% of rated amps so I replaced.

Aftermarket batteries I don't get more than 3. I went AGM last time - will see if I get 4.

Put the same battery in my sons car. His OEM Hyundai battery lasted 6 years. Hope the Walmart battery lasts him a long time too. Replaced it in February, so still young.

my sister and brother in-law has had good luck with batteries from Walmart and their warranty.

That has been our experience with other Hyundai / KIA vehicles (5+ years) on the OEM. But when we replaced the older Santa Fe's battery with an EverStart, it lasted just as long and showed no signs of slowing down when we traded in the vehicle. This is the shortest lasting battery from this line of vehicles we've experienced.

We may, where are you located, as in what are the average temperature ranges that last battery saw in summer and the rest of the year.

Temperature has a huge affect on battery life.

Anyone who comments on battery life should definitely include the temperatures the battery is exposed to.
South Florida. The avg temps are not extreme. Nor does my wife drive in the middle of the day.

I replaced the original battery in my 2008 Charger back in March of 2016. Used an AC Delco AGM 94R battery from Amazon ($140.00). Don't know who made it for Delco, but it is American made and is still humming along over nine years later here in South Texas.

Not uncommon at all today with AGM batteries in late model vehicles with "smart" charging systems, auto stop/start and the electrical load put on the system in general.

You see this all the time in late model Nissan and GM world. About a year ago I had put a monster 900CCA H8 size WM Everstart Platinum replacement battery in my 2016 Malibu. I actually had to mail order the battery through WM as none of my local stores had it. This was probably the 3rd battery this Malibu has seen.
