2.5 Turbo. 5k oil changes. 29890 total miles. Looks like I have some breathing room (manual specifies 5K max interval). Filter changed with Mazda 1WPY-14-302 (same filter used in all changes)
This is the pinnacle of what Mazda has done for a long time. I'm under the belief they've put together some fantastic little engines. Maybe not every single one but they've done well. You are treating you CX-5 well here with that ESP. Excellent results, Thanks
Nothing to complain about, much to praise. I would cry when dumping that premier fluid run under 6k or 7K mi.
I did not know (or I forgot) that 0W-30 ESP was also API SP.
I might try that for my next OC on my lease turbo - if it is still running by springtime, LOL.
If you are keeping this Mazda for a long time, I would stick with 5k OCI's, yes, you have breathing room visc and fuel looks great, but I would keep it at Mazda's 5k OCI. If you're on a long trip and need to go over due to travel, a 1k or 2k miles is fine, as it's highway miles. Nice car and enjoy.

This is exactly what I wanted. I do 5k OCIs on all my vehicles, but I wanted that extra room in case I do run into that trip that goes over my OCI. That and in this case no warranty issues since I’m below Mazda recommended service interval.

While 'technically' it's not labeled "SP", it meets or exceeds the spec.
Looking at the visible organometallics I would say the 0W-30 is not adequate for LSPI. Phos (ZDP) around 800ppm +/- is not a mitigating factor.
The 5W-30 ESP looks very ILSAC/SQ - if not for the high margin KV100.
I must be careful. Manual requires ILSAC GF-6A. My factory tune tends to run the engine just off idle (1200rpm+/-) at light to moderate throttle. This 2.0L turbo Engine knocks under full boost at higher RPM. Got to get to the dealer, maybe need software update.
Italian engine, Korean transmission, Mexican body.
