I am attaching my first blackstone labs used oil analysis report for the named vehicle in title. The oil was pennzoil synthetic 5w30 but I don’t know which version of pennzoil(platinum/ultra/etc) the dealership used?
I had heard that fuel dilution was an issue with these GDI engines and I did flag a small percentage of fuel and a tad low viscosity. While I am under warranty I am sticking with the 5w30. Should I keep this car past that warranty I wanted your thoughts on going with a tad thicker xw40?
Kia recommends “total quartz” oil I noticed in owners manual, but my dealer does not carry this. I know pennzoil is pretty stellar these days!
Mostly highway driving on this car, with the occasional full throttled “carbon clean out”!
