2022 Chevrolet Spark 1LT proper timing to make first oil change ?

I’ve worked at a dealership. The cars sit around, a lot. They get moved short distances, a lot. They get revved hard doing this sometimes.
I would do a first change sometime within the first 3k, but that’s just me. I can understand really wanting to change out FF oil early, and ‘knowing’ what is in there.
Is it really necessary? Probably not.

I like to dump the FF between 500/1K, been doing this to all my new vehicles, not required but like to get all the little metal shavings and junk out of the engine as soon as possible. I follow a 5K or six-month oil change,, OLM is never followed, just reset. ;)
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi everyone! I'm happy to have found this amazing forum !

I'm finally done for brake break-in period, my odometer is now at 450 km...

On the motor side of things, the GM manual says that for 800 km to avoid rough acceleration.. and to not maintain constant speeds for long period which I'm following.

I want your feedback on the timing of my first oil change should be in terms of km .

Thanks
Welcome and congrats on the car. I like to get the first oil change around 1600 km (1000 mi).
I got a 2022 new Chevy Equinox RS in May and changed out the FF at around 2700 km (1600 mi).
My normal oci is around 7 - 8000 km (4500 - 5000 mi).

Thanks I really like Sparks, it is my second one, my first was an LS 2016 model year with zero problems 98 000 km.

I don't make my own oil changes, I have to tell you that my biggest fear is that the mechanic will put too much oil! ( I've read in the owner manual that it is not good to run a motor with oil passed the high level mark on the dipstick.

I don't have a place to make my own... so I rely on mechanics.

Thanks for the feedback

Have it done at the dealer. You probably got two free oil changes anyway.
I always get my new vehicles oil changes at the dealer for warranty.

I'm sure they'll try to refuse if I go at 1000km... but they should not right?
