These engines are know for extremely high fuel dilution.
5000 mile oci is perfect with the ESP 0w30. That’s all I do is 5,000 mile oci with the ESP 0w30. I do not smell fuel, during the cold weather my catch can does have a little fuel in it, but none when it’s over 70 degrees outside but that’s with 93 octane as well. If 87 is used, the catch can always has fuel in it and oil smells of fuel.

What do you think of Acea C3 rated Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30/5W-30 as an oil in general.
The spec sheet on Mobil's website says it has phosphorus = 800 ppm and zinc = 800 ppm, which I think is the phosphorous limit anyway for API SN/SP?
Is ESP robust enough to handle a high revving BMW on a track day, or is the Mobil 1 ESP more of a refined normal duty kind of oil?

According to several well respected members in here it’s some of the best oil on shelf. I don’t know anything about all the track stuff and all that. I don’t think ESP oil falls under API but I could be wrong. I know it has a HTHS of 3.5 and I use it for my Honda and my Lexus that both spec 0w20. @edyvw @OVERKILL can help you with the oil for track question.

Depends on which BMW.
Generally, on track, I would go with XW40 oils like Mobil1 0W40 FS, etc.
ESP 0W30 and 5W30 are exceptional oils, but for the track, I like oils with a bit higher HTHS and ZDDP.
BMW's run super hot, especially if the are inline six which are notorious to cool off and depend on oil cooling much more than I4 or V6, hence, large sumps. I ran Mobil1 0W40 FS at 300f oil temperature here at HPR before limp mode kicked in. And I kept that oil for 5k.
I would be hesitant running ESP 0W30 or 5W30 in my BMW on the track regardless that I have now an oil cooler.

However, for daily, you see my signature, I trust M1 ESP 0W30 or 5W30 all day, every day.

Thanks for that info on Mobil 1 ESP. I too have vehicles speced for 20 weight oils that I prefer to run thick 5W-30's in.

I like ESPs HTHS = 3.5 and it's API SN rating, but I need to learn more about what mid saps and low saps oils are, and their downsides.

I really like Castrol 5W-30 Euro A3/B4 oil available on Amazon/Walmart's website for about $29 a jug, but worry it's higher phosphorus could damage my catalytic converters.

API SP/SN allows 800 ppm of Phosphorus, but the Castrol 5W-30 Euro A3/B4 has 1000 ppm phosphorus. Not sure of the effect on a catalytic connverter of the excess 200 ppm Phosphorus?

For an extra $10.00 added to the price of your UOA you could have gotten a TBN
I will next time.
I wouldn't wasted your money with TBN if you're going to continue with 3000 mile oil change intervals. I'm a proponent of getting a TBN and even I wouldn't bother with an OCI of less than 4000 miles. Any reputable oil will have lots of life left at 4-5k except under very special circumstances.
