I don't see many analysis results for this engine so thought I would share in case others were looking for information about this engine in this application. typical 20-30 minute 75% highway driving during weekdays and longer drives on weekends. The Jeep had a little over 39K miles at the time this analysis was taken.

Oil Analysis results.webp

Not bad, did thin out a bit, phos and zddp is a tad low. Considering that 0w-40 is about the same price I'd rather use that instead. Overall just a better oil. But this is fine to use.

You're right, there isn't much out there about this engine. We're looking at Wranglers right now and this is in a lot of them.

Is this the eTorque?

Long term thoughts about it?

Thanks

It is eTorque. The engine has gotten very loud on cold start and initial drive. Sounds like rod knock, but it goes away when it warms up. I love the pep of the engine and it did great at altitude in Colorado on the high passes.

I've serviced a few of these 4cyls and 2 friends have them (a 2020 and 2022) and I was impressed with the smooth power delivery and it did not feel under powered when compared to my Gladiator with the 3.6L. I will say the gas mileage is no better than the 3.6 so I would prefer the 3.6 if given a choice. My friends are getting around 17 which is what my larger/heavier gladiator gets.

Thanks for sharing, always interesting seeing UOA from engines that aren't super common here yet. Looking through the report, nothing looks concerning in this report to me. I'm wonder if the copper is just leaching from the oil cooler and will just continue to slowly trend downward with time.

That's about my average. I am running 35s on the factory 4:10 gearing. My mileage actually increased a little when I went to the 35s. It seems the Sports with the 3.45 gearing get much better milage which would make some sense why mine went up.

My Gladiator (Rubicon 4.10's) is also 35's so we are seeing the same results and that is a good analysis!
