Being as my car is a small displacement turbo charged GDI I try to keep my OCI @ about 5000 miles. We took road trip to FL in December so since I do all of my own oil changes I thought I would go with Amsoil SS to try and stretch this interval out a bit to avoid having to change the oil in the brutal cold. I'm not a Amsoil guy and pretty much go with whatever oil I can get for a good price at the time. I ran OCI on my Fram Ultra filter hence the 11,000 miles on it. On a 5000 OCI my OLM is typically at 40% and based on the results of my UOA's I'm wondering if 5000 mile OCI are overkill. What say you?

The viscosity is great, despite the flashpoint. Nice looking report. What oil did you run on the previous UOA of 4810 miles?

11,000 miles 👍🏻 Given the cost (per mile) of Amsoil, this was a smart idea. Have to 🙄 when I see people use Amsoil for 3000 mile intervals but, pffft, it's their money....

Al seems awfully high, engine should be broken in….excessive bearing/piston wear from high fuel? Flash is way down.

Try running Mobil EP or Castrol EP. Similar driving as Amsoil for a comparison. If they have the same UOA you could save yourself some money.

Looks good. Run the PUP again or M1 AFE for about 7,000 and see how the engine likes them. Al is high. Still breaking in?
