I have just 17,000 miles on it because I work from home. It a 2019, so 2018 build date

7 Years seems like I should change it, but then I just read the book and it wants another 3 years. Leave it be, or change it?

Leave it. It's a sealed system that degasses in a pressurized bottle. At 17k miles, there is no reason to change it yet.

Lol, I just realized you had a quote from me in your signature...... (y)

As for the OP, likely fine. I'm not aware of any cooling related problems (I'm specifically thinking of RAM and their plugged heater cores) that F150's have.

I changed out the Ranger at 60k/5 years, just because it is fairly easy, the Zerex Yellow is cheap enough (this stuff: https://shop.valvolineglobal.com/pr...-yellow-50-50-prediluted-antifreeze?Size=1+GA), it is hot down here in the south, I worked that truck hard, and you only swap out some of the coolant anyways, so I figured a D&F every 60k or so would do the trick.

I will likely follow a similar schedule with the new F150, although I have no idea what I'm going to do with the 'low temp cooling circuit' for the Hybrid stuff.

Test it. I suspect you are going to find it in great condition, in which case you can leave it until it needs to be changed.

These newer coolants are so much better that the standard green coolants of the past.

I would change it since it's inexpensive and easy. It will be pretty dark looking if you go to far. I change mine about every 2 years but I plan on keeping my 2014 F-150 for quite a while since it gets driven mainly highway miles to and from the river. I have only 82,000 miles on it.

Leave it be and sleep easy. Save both your money and the environment. Honestly, you could just run that coolant for the life of the truck or until a cooling system component requires replacement and still be all good.

I replaced 17 yo coolant. Cooling system looked new and coolant was pristine. Asked myself "why am I doing this?" Peak says their stuff is "lifetime", now I believe them. YMMV

I purchased the Honda in my signature in 2011 with 50,000 miles on the odometer. I have never changed the coolant nor have I had to add even one ounce to the radiator or the reservoir. Just a few weeks ago I purchased a tester. The coolant was absolutely crystal clear, still green but no evidence of any particles or debris. It also buried the needle on both freeze and boil protection! It was so perfect, I thought maybe the tester was defective so I also tested tap water just to make sure. That gave me the results one would expect so I assume the tester to be accurate. I was amazed.

Your 2008 CRV had green coolant?

Hybrid coolant has an easy life..
Been running the same coolant in my Nissan leaf for 15 years and it still looks and tests as new coolant.

True enough, But I'll probably still swap it out when I do the ICE circuit.

I THINK the F150 uses an exhaust heat exchanger for warming up the battery pack in the winter. I've heard tales of them going bad on a regular basis, so I'll do what I can to prevent corrosion in mine.

Well that's certainly not an ideal application for long life coolant

Someone likely did a drain and fill with a Dexclone. The OEM coolant is blue. Blue Honda coolant and Yellow Dexclone make green. But it's fine, this illustrates what I've been saying for years now, Dexclone coolants are great. There is no reason to spend more, unless you're still under warranty and need to maintain the original color.
