Hey everybody! I need an oil that meets the Dexos 2 oil spec. Mobil 1 ESP used to meet it but it’s since been dropped. It still has the ACEA C3 spec. But, I’m wondering if I should just buy the OEM AC Delco stuff and be done with it? Any suggestions?

GM went away with Dexo2. It is obsolete; therefore, Mobil1 cannot get approval.
Use it with confidence.

I saw it had been replaced with I believe “Dexos D”? Folks have been using it and it doesn’t look as though the formulation has changed. I think you’re right and it’ll work. I figured I’d ask lol.

This was my second choice and was having difficulty finding it even at local auto parts stores. I can get the Mobil 1 ESP local.
A duramax owner said the same in a review.

"My vehicle 16' Duramax diesel recommends Dexos 2 oil for the engine. I couldn't find it anywhere. Autozone, Walmart, Napa and online. Finally found it on a spec sheet for brands that make it. Surprise surprise, it's online at Walmart (not in the store). I ordered, they delivered the next day. Price was better than others also. Oil is oil, great service at an affordable price is hard to find"

Shipping is fast and free. Minimum $35 order which isn't much. I've ordered oil from walmart and its been a good experience.

As others said already, dexos2 is being replaced by dexosd.

However, the PP Euro L is still a great choice at a great price :)
Still available at Canadian Tire in Canada. Dexos 2 & C3.
