First sample. Oil dumped, the Donaldson left in place. Didn't feel like dealing with the flood of oil.
Wanted to see how well it's breaking in, and what my fuel dilution looks like. Idles for hours at times, this oil has probably seen at least a day's worth.
This is my daily, and I'm only a few miles from work.
Refilled with Kirkland 15w40. Plan to throw a bypass on next OC to take care of that soot.

Soot was non existant and bypass wont do very much for soot. Cummins specs 3% as condemnation. Your well within spec. All I could mimuster was just over 1/2 % on a full index without of cold starts and idle hours.

If you're concerned about soot, TDR-FL will reduce your soot significantly, 50-75% reduction by using it 400:1 in every tank. Chemical treatment works or you can try physical treatment (Filtration) to get the same effect.
