2018 F150 XL, 2.7L EcoBoost TGDI, 4 UOAs

Another member wanted to see some UOA results for a 2.7L EB so I figured I'd post mine up in case anyone else was interested as well.

Oils used by report date:

3/27/21 - Rotella Gas Truck 5w-30
10/3/20 - Rotella Gas Truck 5w-30
11/16/19 - Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30
11/3/18 - Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5w-30

I am currently running Castrol Edge 5w-30 and will have a UOA on that around November or December this year.

Another falling out of grade. How strange being that this oil starts on the high side of the viscosity range ( 11.7 @ 100C).

I have other UOAs from other vehicles in my fleet that aren't TGDI and did not have that problem at all. RGT in any of my EB engines seemed to end up lower than spec'd for the grade. This was 7K miles in a type of engine that should really be doing 5K mile OCIs. If you look at the Motorcraft SB 5w-30, you'll see it's right there with the RGT after only 5K miles. I do NOT use Motorcraft SB in any of my EB engines because that result was duplicated in all of them, just like I don't use RGT in them anymore.

I was down to 9.1 in less than 3k miles with RGT in my 2020 2.7l F150. I am going to stick to short OCIs so that the engine runs oil of the correct grade. Or look for a light 40 grade.

In my personal F150 with the 3.5L EB, I ran Valvoline MST 5w-40 and it seemed to do very well.

Is this a Blackstone UOA? If so/not, where is the response about the UOA from said company?

Oh, you're gonna make me do all that extra work, huh? Would you like to see it for just the latest one or all four of them?
