Recently done a pan drop, & filter change.
Sent a sample for analysis before, & after refilling with new oil. I would estimate I got about an 80% oil change

Not much of an increase in Iron, & Copper from the previous analysis, & oil viscosity still within range.
Slight increase in Aluminum, which was flagged at Upper Critical.

There was some minor filings on the filter, & Pan magnet, but very minimal to other transmissions I have worked on.

Oil is Mercon ULV ATF

Any towing with the truck?
Nothing heavy, A 2 place home built Snowmobile trailer, & a16 foot Starcraft boat & trailer mostly.
Just seen some people saying the 10R80 has a lot of moving parts, & subject to wear. I plan on keeping the truck for a while, so wanted to get the initial wear metals out as soon as possible. Maybe it wasn't required yet, but cheap insurance.

Nope, totally understand. I'm not as concerned as much with the moving parts, but more about keeping the gunk out of the solenoid pack. There's just a lot going on in them and clean fluid is better in my book. Mine is hauling a fairly hefty travel trailer, so it will get a severe duty schedule of a D&F every 10k and new filter at 60.
