2018 Accord TPMS failure message, Why?

The day before we left on a three week trip, I saw an odd message on the dash display of the Accord.
It read "Tire Pressure Monitor System Problem.
Check Tire Pressure.
See Your Dealer".

While not really happy I figured that it would get us to the airport and then home, which it did.
Re-calibration causes this message to go away only briefly.
Anyone have any idea what the cause might be and how I can remedy it without the "See Your Dealer" part?
 
Did you check the pressure?

Does that Accord have direct or indirect TPMS? Honda used indirect on the previous gen 2013-17, but Honda eventually went back to direct with their newest models. I don't know what they did for 2018 TPMS.
