@The Critic Is that an engine out repair to replace those bolts? Any why did they use aluminum bolts?
Thanks for the info. As long as the screws don't break, that is pretty simple. I'll check out the condition of the screws right away if we buy it (not really able to take the airboxes out during the initial inspection), order the kit and change them. Who thought aluminum fasteners were the way to go there.
I heard some models require front clip removal, but not entirely sure.@The Critic Is that an engine out repair to replace those bolts? Any why did they use aluminum bolts?
Front clip comes off easier than thee engine removal. Not a small job but not the worst one in the world.I heard some models require front clip removal, but not entirely sure.
It is my understanding that new bolts will stop the leak but it doesn't always make it perfect.

Does the Macan Turbo suffer this problem too?
I would stay with an A40 oil, but the C30 would probably be fine. Its a good oil.A bit of an update and a question.
Been enjoying the Macan for a few weeks now. I've replaced the timing cover bolts (1 broken one took 3 hours to remove the broken bit the other was intact and came right out). I've done an oil change, PDK fluid change, Transfer case fluid change and replaced the crossover coolant vent pipe with the "fix". It has been eye opening as to the level of engineering that goes into this vehicle and the drive is magnificent.
The winter tires are installed and I have some mud guards coming to keep the sides from getting sandblasted.
On to the question. The oil spec for this generation of Macan is Porsche A40 which matches nicely with the Castrol Edge 0w40 I use in the truck. The newer Macan uses a C30 (or C20) oil. We are selling our large travel trailer since we don't need a bunkhouse for kids any more so the truck won't be hauling through the mountains towing 7500lbs any more. I am hoping to move on to Pennzoil 0w30 Euro LX for the truck and wondering if the Macan can use it as well. It has C30 and MB 229.XX ratings. The Macan will never see a track and never be run anywhere near its potential. Thoughts on using the 0w30 across all our vehicles?

It is about the same price for the edge 0w40 and pennzoil 0w30. I have been using the pennzoil on the cx-5, ranger and sienna and the edge on the F150 and (now) Macan. Without having to tow a lot, the 0w30 sounds fine for the truck and probably fine for my use case on the Macan. Just wondering if anyone sees any issues. The C30 seems to be better all around:

I change the oil in the spring and fall on all our vehicles regardless of mileage. Just routine at this point. Anywhere from 3k to 5k miles depending on the vehicle use for the 6 months.I don’t see any issues. If you choose long drain interval, might want to verify TBN at the end of the run.
