I replaced the rockers on the front bank about two years ago with ~85k miles. The rear bank started ticking this May and 118k miles.

Same chain of events as before. First I noticed lots of sparkles in the oil filter during my last oil change, which was followed by ticking few months later.
The cam lobes starred to score this time, but it was minor so I didn't replace the camshaft.

Same trick as before, loosen the bearing caps, release timing chain tension and lift up the cam to create enough room and wiggle the rockers out. Works quite well without the need to mess with timing.

Sorry for your misfortune at such a low mileage. How much of a pain is that procedure ? At least you had some previous experience. The Chrysler Pentastar strikes again.

Nah, I was expecting this failure. But I understand it catches many owners by surprise and they need to spend quite a lot to get it fixed. I spent around a $100 for the rockers and my time.

The rear bank is a pain in the neck because some of the harness clips are blind and you’re laying on your stomach to reach in. A magnet tool is helpful, but keep it away from the cam position rings.
