The Toyota dealer did a transmission flush, dropped the pan, cleaned the magnets and installed the $45 direct import from Japan eBay transmission filter. The dealer did not even carry stock and the on-line price is a costly $95. Big bucks. Luckily it was zero $$ on the US customs duty. The technician reported very little debris on the magnets and the pics below support the ‘car care nut’ recommendation to change ur Toyota/Lexus ATF every 30-40k and then the filter never needs to be changed. Some history, the 14 Venza V6 AWD had ATF OC at 40k(WS),88k(RL D6) and now 121k(HPL green). I did aggressively swab the bottom of the louvres several times with a q-tip looking for any debris. Zero and amazing.
Any one interested in a 121k mi slightly used ATF filter?
An UOA will be done once I do my wife’s ES350 at the end of August and do an short mileage oc on the RX350.
