Is this that rear end that needs Honda pump 2 fluid or crazy noises will happen?

I might be doing 30k diff fluid change. They have normal drain and fill plugs right?

I'm not aware of any substitutes for the Dual Pump Fluid II. It's about $7/quart at your Honda dealer, and you'll need two quarts. It takes about 1.6 or 1.7 for the change. Yes, it has conventional drain and fill plugs -- crack the fill plug first to be sure that you can loosen it before draining the fluid. Shouldn't have much of a problem on a vehicle that new, but it's a good habit to have.

I do 25k mile changes on our rear end units (and did the same when I had our CR-V). I think you can get by with every 50k miles or more, but I enjoy changing fluid and don't mind spending the money to get my under-car therapy every so often.

If the 2014 is similar to the Honda Elements, the rear diff has a drain and fill plug, both are 3/8" square for a ratchet. My Element made a loud rumbling noise when making tight parking lot turns when I bought it at 58k. New fluid fixed that completely. I'm due for a change and plan to do it every 30k.

The Element used 1.1 qt and as far as I know, there is no suitable replacement fluid.

Oh, and as always, remove the top fill plug before you remove the drain plug, just to make sure that you can put new fluid in before you drain it out! Although, that shouldn't be a problem for a '14!
