They said there was no way to tell which oil this was based on the UOA. Based on information provided here I disagree, but the quick lube is offering to change to PP at no cost. I'll do another UOA at the same mileage to compare the numbers.. assuming I'm really getting PP this time, the Moly should be way down.

For anyone interested, I had my free oil change and also got a look at the email from Shell Technical. I was also given a tour of the facility, and am satisfied it's a professionally run shop. The synthetic oils are kept in boxes that look like boxed wine and are filled right in front of the customer. I am still eager to do the UOA on this oil after 4000km to compare but I am very sure this place is not scamming folks.
