Today I went to close the sunshade, heard a weird crack while it was closing and then the sunroof shade fell on me. How can this be fixed? I took a photo of both sides of the metal bar it’s attached to. One has a clip with a spring inside and the other side is empty. Not sure if something needs to be there or not.

I’m assuming the whole headliner needs to come off to repair this?

Any input is appreciated.

I have never done one like that just the hard sliders, I would go to the dealer in this case. I hope it is not too expensive but it may be a good idea to have your banker in tow just in case

I found this. Not the same year as your car but maybe it could possibly help point you in the right direction:

The vehicle will be put up for sale within a week as a replacement was bought. Wanted to fix it right if it’s not too expensive. If it truly is expensive to replace, the shade will come off and it will be a permanent panoramic glass roof.

I certainly hope it can be fixed properly though by a mechanic, specialty upholstery, or sunroof shop
