Recently bought a 2011 Ford transit connect. Went out to start it today and it cranked and started but stalled after only a couple seconds. Tried to restart it and it won't crank over with the key. Battery is new and has a good charge. Jumped the starter out and it spins over fine but won't fire. Every once in awhile I can get it to try and crank but its only for a couple seconds. Battery connections are good and everything else has power.

Have you check the immobilizer, alarm
I recently had a shift cable bushing fail (F150) and despite the shifter being in "park", the truck would not start. Same thing can happen on some vehicles with the brake light switch, as some will not start without stepping on the brake. Also the suggestion above is a good one, the alarm can disable the vehicle.
Did you try starting in neutral? Fuel pump?
Did some more poking around. PCM relay was not engaging. Tried switching it with another relay and no go. Took the relay out and tested it and its good. Made a jumper and put it in place of the relay and was able to get the van started.
So just need to figure out what actually controls that relay and why its not working
