2010 Crown Victoria Oil Question

Also despite some manufacturer's manuals and their CAFE mandated language, oil grade is not specified but is recommended. A license, approval or specification may be specified but the grade is a recommendation. If an automaker obtains CAFE credits for an oil (and all do) then per their award letter they must strongly discourage the user from using any grade other than what was used by the manufacturer during MPG testing.
Interesting so I’m guessing multiple grades could meet a specification

Assuming this is a Ford, run the thickest oil you can find in it for all climates. That engine needs all the help it can get.

What if it’s a Lincoln Town Car, then can I run 0w20?

But in all seriousness the 2V modulars are solid engines. Known for many hundreds of thousands of miles in service with minimal issues. They lived on in stripped chassis vehicles for years after they were taken out of regular light trucks and passenger car. I believe the 7.3 gas engine has fully phased them out at this point though.
