The first column is the current sample, oil not changed yet, but will be soon due to 1 year interval nearing. Second column (not counting average) is my sample from a year ago on "near virgin" oil. Third column is from a year ago, which was the then current second fill ever on the car. My Iron & Copper are coming down, so my break in must be nearing completion. I wonder why my insolubles were up to Trace from 0.2 last year though?

Well, I don't mind, and the numbers are coming in line with the C300 I posted, so this car seems to be getting over break in, but I completely get your point. Is the 4 PPM Potassium normal? The 1ppm silver isn't very common either is it? Would this likely just be an erroneous reading?

Don't worry about 1 ppm of silver. It is just not relevant or of any importance. That car is ready to be driven longer. Trace is lower than .02 which is outstanding.

grin2 i like the "Near Virgin" sample. This current report looks good. I see the car isn't driven that much since you're nearing the 1 year mark. Once the metals get flushed outta the system, you COULD extend the oil changes well beyond the 1 year mark. Your Flashpoint is excellent, insolubles are amazing, tons of TBN left, you can easily extend to 1.5 years or longer without any negative side effects. Nice ride and awesome engine. Keep up the good work thumbsup

Thanks. On fuel, Blackstone has told me that Trace is higher than <0.5, so I wasn't sure about insolubles, and they pointed out the "Trace as nothing to worry about," as if it was something worth mentioning. Their descriptions leave a lot to be desired. Thanks for the reassurance on the Silver. I know I shouldn't worry, but it's like 1 out of 100 analysis I see on here have 1 ppm Silver. I just don't get it, how it could have it. I might have to do another analysis just to see if the silver showed up again.
