The motor on my wife's cx-9(Ford Engine) calls for 7,500 OCI when driven normally. 5k oci for heavier driving. My wife has a remote start and does nothing but short trip city driving. So the car idles for 10 minutes every time and then goes on a short stop and go trip. I decided to use the 5k oci with PP and a Pureone Filter.

Am I paranoid? Can I go dino? Should I extend to 7500 oci?
PS: the car takes 5w-20

Thanks

Paranoid? I wouldn't think so.
I think your choice of oil/filter/interval is a good one. IMHO

Do they suggest a Motorcraft filter for your app?

You can use them, but Mazda has a rebranded Motorcraft that they recommend

You should be ok going to 7500 since it's a Group III synthetic but if you want to really be sure, you can do a used oil analysis and then share the results with us
