2009 Mazda 3.7L oils

Im looking for some 3.7L(5-20w on the cap) data on the 2009 Mazda 6 or maybe the CX-7/9. The owner's manual states pretty much use anything oily from 5/10 20s-40s. I know its impossible to pick an oil for best protection w/o testing but I if one didn't care about mileage what would an oilguy pick? Currently running M1 5-20w and looking at PP 5-40w maybe. We can also use this post to compile 3.7L data.

btw the CX7 takes 5w30, it has the turbo motor.

Duratec 37 3.7L only please, forget the CX-7. Lincoln MKS and MKT also.

I know it's a different engine, but i run M1 0w20 in my 04' Mazda6s 3.0 with good results.

if i had one of those vehicles i would run whatever synthetic 5w20 met the spec and run it the factory specified interval.

I know right! I should just run the thing, but I like to tinker and I like to change oil, lol. M1 meets the high standard ACEA A1/B1. Is there a reason people are running 0s? I live in MD so warm/hot weather.
