I kinda like the old style speedo and tach. I'm sure the production interior would look a lot better than that test car.

Some cars that have come from GM amaze me. I honestly don't know how they could produce some of the cars they have made. Remember the Skylark with the arrow front bumper? [censored]?

Its an attempt at a modern interpritation of what they had in 1967. Here is a 67 on ebay for comparison (note aftermarket speaker and shifter).

buster- as has been pointed out earlier in this thread and on various forums, that is not a picture of the production interior. Test mules often have interiors cobbled together from the parts bin, as is obviously the case with the taped on gauge trim and not-at-all-flush center stack. I seriously cannot believe you think this is the interior that will be used. I take it you've never seen a test mule before?

You are right. I've seen test mules up at the GM tech center that looked terrible - but served the purpose needed, which was the driveline tests. I remember seeing a mock prototype Corvette C6 and thought what an awful design. The final production model was nowhere near what I saw and was actually decent looking. So don't make decisions now on that one picture.

Well I'm glad it might just be a test mule. I wasn't aware of that. Hopefully they improve it. GM has been slowly moving in the right direction and this car could be big for them, but not with an interior as it is now IMO.
The retro thing is getting old IMO. Ford was successful with the Mustang, but they came out with it in 2005. 5 years later is a bit late.....

The photographer seems to have had plenty of access in this case, some shots were obviously from inside the car.

As GMB points out, you have a valid point. While GM has put out some very nice, impressive products recently (the Malibu comes readily to mind), they have also fielded some absolute atrocities. I'm holding my breath, hoping that interior bears no resemblance to the real thing...

It may well have been a GM employee who took these photos. They almost certainly did it without GM's consent, however.

While the final production car may end up differing in detail, such a late-stage prototype is going to have most of the major pieces in place.
The shape of dash isn't gonna change, nor is the cluster, the center stack, nor the four small auxiliary gauges (or gages, in GM-speak) in front of the gear lever.
If you believe otherwise (which GM parts bin did those parts come from?), I think you'll be disappointed.
This one's almost ready to come out of the oven; the recipe can't be changed now.
