Me (170), Wife (140), x3 of our Kiddo's (9 yr, 4yr, & 3yr old) w/groceries & full tank of fuel. This is front wheel drive & not the all wheel drive version. Online has that curb weight of this model slightly below 4,500 lbs. Here it totals 5,060 lbs & somewhat surprised by how level the weight is front & back. Thought I'd share for others.

As the owner of a 2004 model, that doesn’t surprise me at all. They are pretty heavy, and when youthrow in the usual stuff that people keep in their cars, half a tank of gas and a person or two, 5000 pounds isn’t a shock at all.

I speculate that AWD option would add around another 200 lbs or so. Explains why I go into a turn it wants to keep going straight. 😅 Exaggerating aside, I definitely appreciate your notes regarding these models & it really did help me get into one of these. The wife is real happy with it. Piling on a bit over 3k a month from ripping around.

Having owned a few gen1 S60s, this just makes me smile. Volvo did a wonderful job with weight distribution which added a lot in naturally handling dynamics in that generation. P2s don’t get enough credit for the amount of thought that went into them - they have been called the best RWD-like handling of any FWD car. You lose a little acceleration traction potential at the edge, or in wet or snow, but the natural dynamics are improved.
