From what I have heard from others who have tested gtx in bikes, the gtx shears rather quickly and does not last but a couple of hours in a bike.
 
I have run the gtx 10/40 in my crf and will continue to do so as I got a case of it at home depot for $1.19/qrt until that runs out. Have also run exxon superflo 20W50 in the summer as well as rotella 15W40.
 
We've had a series of coupons for $10 off of a $40 purchase at Canadian Tire up here, so I stocked up on MCF and MCV (stocking up for a motorcycle that takes 1 L of oil doesn't take too long).
 
The fact that you are changing it out pretty regularly and not trying to go as long as possible is a plus
