Need to know what type of ATF fluids these vehicles spec. I want to change the fluid to Amsoil, but is it worth it if I can't drain the torque converter? The 500 is a FWD, non-cvt.

I believe it's Mercon V which Amsoil is rated for.

Flush via the tranny line. Or change out the pan and filter and then suck out the fluid thru the trans dipstick tube. That would be an inefficient way to do it though.

At least dropping the pan gets about 40% of the fluid out.

Mercon V for the E250. Ford 500 FWD has the Aisin 6-speed and that takes T-IV.

actually the E-series is most likely a 4R100 depending on what engine. That would MUCH rather have mercon in it not merconV no matter what others will say.

Mercon was the fluid originally spec'ed for it. I buy chevron MD3 from my bulk dealer cheaper than a lot of no name fluids
